UpCanyon provides traffic conditions, road closures, weather, snow plow locations, ski bus tracking, and electronic road sign messages for Big Cottonwood Canyon (SR-190) and Little Cottonwood Canyon (SR-210) near Salt Lake City, Utah.
All data comes from official UDOT and UTA public feeds and is refreshed automatically every two minutes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why am I not seeing any snow plows or ski buses?
Snow plows and UTA ski buses operate seasonally, typically from November through April. Outside of ski season, these layers may show no active vehicles.
How often does the data update?
All traffic, weather, and vehicle data refreshes automatically every two minutes. You can also pull down to manually refresh.
Does the app track my location?
No. UpCanyon does not request or access your device location. All canyon data is displayed without needing to know where you are.
Is the app free?
Yes. UpCanyon is completely free with no ads, no subscriptions, and no in-app purchases.
Where does the data come from?
Traffic, weather, and road sign data comes from the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT). Bus locations come from the Utah Transit Authority (UTA). All data is publicly available.
